Pure Silk is a pseudo-documentary about the story of the Silk brothers, Scott and Tom, who go to Hollywood and produce a major motion picture.
The documentary opens with a brief history of the Silks and stories from their early years. They began as normal school students who wrote a movie script for their high school reading class. Although, their teacher gave the script a passing grade, it was ridiculed by fellow classmates. Undeterred, the Silks took their script to Hollywood, where it is picked up by Sherman Sidney from DeadFly films and becomes a major blockbuster.
However, all good things must come to and end. As the Silks prepare to produce
a second film, they vanish without a trace, leaving fans feeling empty and
wondering what happened.
When the idea for
Pure Silk came about, director Ryan Dixon collaborated with the Silk brothers,
Scott and Tom to write a script. They did. However, Ryan choose to
do a pseudo-documentary format. He incorporated their real script as their
hit movie "Pure Silk."
A special edition featuring new
scenes and previously unreleased footage of the Silks was released in
1998.
